A Simple Skincare Regimen
Although my skin has thankfully long been out of it's horrible acne ridden teenage phase, it can still be pretty finicky. Over the years I have gone through many products trying to find the right combination that works best for me, and I feel like I have finally found a few products that are going to stick. Together they seem to really balance my skin and make it look and feel it's best. Yay! So here is my skincare regimen, who knows, maybe it will help you figure out what is right for your skin.
Step 1: J.R. Watkins Sugar & Shea Body Scrub: This is probably the best body scrub I've ever used, and it is 100% natural which is great. It is really exfoliating without being too rough, and it keeps my skin hydrated and protected from drying hot water throughout my whole shower. Your skin will feel AMAZING once you dry off. The only downside is it can make the bottom of the shower kind of slick.
Step 2: Burt's Bees Lemon & Vitamin E Bath and Body Oil (scent: coconut milk & honey): After striking out on finding a body lotion that I liked, and that didn't give me an allergic reaction, I decided to try the body oil route and I was really surprised with how much I liked it. We'll see if I change my mind once the heat of summer rolls around, but for now I'm pretty into it. It's 100% natural, smells really amazing, and keeps my skin hydrated all day. It's easier to apply when your skin is still damp from the shower, so don't dry off all the way. It feels a little oily at first, but after 10 or 15 minutes it gets absorbed and your skin just feels soft.
Step 4: Boots Botanics Shine Away Mattifying Toner: This toner clears away anything my face wash misses, and keeps my face from getting oily without drying it out. It contains Willow Bark, a natural source of Salicylic Acid, which helps to clear and gently exfoliate my skin.
Step 5: Aveeno Positively Radiant Daily Moisturizer with SPF 15: I use to use this moisturizer with SPF 30 but it was too drying so I switched. One pump in my hand is enough to cover my whole face. It's great for oily skin because it hydrates my skin just enough without feeling greasy.
